Interventional pulmonary is a relatively new subspecialty of Pulmonary Medicine that is dedicated to advanced procedures in pulmonary and critical care. These involve diagnostic, therapeutic and palliative procedures. At present, we have full range of interventional pulmonary services at OSU:

| Dr. Shaheen Islam is the director of the Interventional Pulmonology program at The Ohio State University. He did an Interventional Pulmonary Fellowship at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. He sponsors and teaches courses at OSU on techniques such as percutaneous tracheostomy, and has been invited nationally and internationally to present his work. | ![]() |
